eCommerce Accountant Pricing, Fixed and Monthly

One monthly fee, agreed up front, that covers your accounts, tax, VAT and bookkeeping. Each tier includes everything below it, so as you grow you move up to a new fee rather than paying for two packages.

In short

eCounts charges fixed monthly fees for eCommerce accounting: Compliance from £250 a month for sole traders and £590 for limited companies, Basic at £350, Growth at £700, Scale from £2,500 and Fractional FD from £4,500. Every tier includes the one below it, your Xero or QuickBooks subscription is included, and agreements run month to month.

Works with the platforms and software you already use

Trademarks belong to their owners. eCounts is independent and not endorsed by these platforms.

Flexible Pricing

Flexible pricing designed to grow seamlessly alongside your business needs.

Choose a plan to see what it includes

All packages run on rolling monthly agreements. Each tier includes everything in the tiers before it.

Compare Plans

Each tier replaces the last, so you only ever pay one monthly fee. No hidden costs, no surprise invoices, and advice included as standard.

Included as standard

What every fixed fee accountant package includes

Whatever tier you are on, the compliance work is covered: your annual accounts, your tax returns, VAT returns filed under Making Tax Digital, and the bookkeeping behind them. Your Xero or QuickBooks subscription is part of the fee, so there is no separate software bill.

Advice is included too. A fixed fee means you can ask a question about a VAT invoice, a new marketplace or a stock purchase without a timesheet running. We would much rather hear about something before it happens than tidy it up afterwards.

The eCommerce tiers add the work that makes the numbers useful: platform reconciliation through A2X, cost of goods sold tracking, management reporting and, from Growth upwards, dashboards and cash flow forecasting.

Which tier

How the tiers fit together

Each tier replaces the one before it. You never stack fees, and you never need to change accountants as you grow.

Compliance

For sole traders and newly formed limited companies who need accounts, tax returns and VAT handled properly. £250 a month for a sole trader, £590 for a limited company.

Basic and Growth

For sellers who need real visibility on margins. Basic covers a single platform with A2X and category-level cost of goods sold. Growth adds multi-platform reconciliation, SKU-level costs, payment processors, dashboards and forecasting.

Scale

For seven-figure operations. SKU-level profitability, multi-currency, management reporting with commentary, paid ads reconciliation and weekly review meetings.

Fractional FD

For brands that need strategic financial leadership: board-level reporting, scenario planning, weekly meetings and board attendance.

Moving tier

What usually moves you up a tier

Tiers follow the complexity of your business rather than your turnover alone. These are the usual triggers.

TriggerWhat it looks likeWhere it usually points
Order volumeYou regularly pass the 500-order limit on BasicGrowth
Number of platformsYou add a second sales channel, such as Amazon alongside ShopifyGrowth
SKU countCategory-level costs no longer show which products make moneyGrowth or Scale
Currencies and ad spendYou sell in several currencies or spend heavily on paid adsScale
Decision-makingYou need board reporting, investor-ready numbers or scenario planningFractional FD

We review your tier with you rather than moving you automatically. If a change would make sense, we will talk it through first.

Fixed monthly fees compared with hourly billing

Accountant fees in the UK are charged in different ways. This is why we chose a fixed monthly fee.

Hourly or ad hoc billing

  • Every phone call and email can add to the bill
  • Clients hold back questions to avoid cost
  • Hard to budget, especially around year end
  • Problems surface late, when they cost more to fix

eCounts fixed monthly fee

  • One agreed price each month
  • Questions and advice included
  • Easy to budget alongside your other overheads
  • Issues raised early, while they are cheap to fix

Outside the monthly fee

What is not included in the monthly fee

A fixed fee only works if both sides know where it stops. Some work falls outside the regular monthly service, and we quote for it separately and agree the price with you before any of it starts.

Onboarding is the main example. The work involved depends on how many platforms you use, how tidy your existing records are and how far back the history goes, so we quote onboarding after the discovery call, once we have seen what is involved.

Other one-off projects work the same way: catching up on several years of missing bookkeeping, for example, or specialist work outside the scope of your tier. If something is not covered, you will hear that from us before the work is done, not on an invoice afterwards. If you have questions about scope, raise them on your discovery call.

Switching

Switching to eCounts from another accountant

Changing accountants is mostly work we do for you. A typical switch takes two to three weeks.

  1. 01

    Book a discovery call

We talk through your platforms and recommend a tier, then quote for onboarding.

  2. 02

    Professional clearance and HMRC authorisation

We contact your outgoing accountant and get authorised as your agent with HMRC.

  3. 03

    Connect and clean up

We connect your platforms to Xero or QuickBooks, bring your records across and pick up your next deadlines.

Frequently asked questions

Can’t see your question? We’re happy to talk it through.

Contact us
How much does an eCommerce accountant cost?
Our eCommerce accounting starts at £350 a month, with compliance included. Compliance on its own is £250 a month for a sole trader and £590 for a limited company. Larger operations start at £2,500 a month on Scale, and Fractional FD support starts at £4,500.
Are your fees fixed?
Yes, every tier is a fixed monthly fee agreed before you start. Questions and advice are included, so you will not receive an extra invoice for picking up the phone.
Do I pay for compliance and eCommerce accounting separately?
No. Each tier replaces the one below it and includes everything in it, so a Basic client pays £350 a month in total, not £350 on top of a compliance fee.
Is there a setup or onboarding fee?
Onboarding is quoted after the discovery call. The work depends on your platforms and the state of your existing records, so we agree a price with you once we have seen what is involved.
What happens if I go over my tier's order limit?
We talk to you before anything changes. If you are regularly beyond the 500-order limit on Basic, or have added a platform, we will suggest moving to Growth and explain why.
Is there a minimum contract?
No. All packages run on rolling monthly agreements, so you are not locked in.
Is the accounting software included?
Yes, your Xero or QuickBooks subscription is included in the monthly fee. We set it up for you if you are starting fresh.
How do accountant fees in the UK usually work?
Accountants in the UK typically charge either by the hour, by the job or as a fixed monthly fee. We use a fixed monthly fee because it makes costs predictable for you and encourages you to ask questions early.
