Website terms of use

Last updated 9 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of this website, including its guides and free calculators. By using the site you agree to them.

About these terms

These terms cover the website only. If you become a client, our services are governed by the engagement letter and terms of business we agree with you, not by these website terms.

Who we are

This website is operated by eCounts Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number [number], whose registered office is 58 Croxteth Drive, Rainford, St Helens WA11 8LA. You can contact us at hello@ecounts.com or on 07851 482987.

Information, not advice

The guides and pages on this site are general information for UK online sellers. They are not tax, legal or financial advice for your circumstances, and reading them does not make you our client. Tax rules, thresholds and platform fees change, and while we work to keep content accurate and dated, we cannot promise it is complete or up to date at the moment you read it.

Before acting on anything you read here, take advice on your own situation. You can book a discovery call with us.

Calculators and tools

Our calculators, including the import duty calculator and the platform profit calculators, give estimates based on the figures you enter and simplified assumptions explained beside each one. Default rates are examples. Use them for planning, and check the figures against your own invoices, the UK Trade Tariff and HMRC guidance before relying on them.

Using the site

You may use the site for your own information and for your business. You must not misuse it, for example by trying to gain unauthorised access, introducing malicious code, or copying large parts of it systematically. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site without notice.

Intellectual property

The content, design and code of this site belong to us or our licensors. You may print or save pages for your own use. You must not republish our content without permission, other than short extracts with a link back to the source page.

We link to other websites, such as GOV.UK and the software we use. We are not responsible for their content. Platform and software names and logos shown on this site, including Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, TikTok, WooCommerce, Xero, QuickBooks, PayPal, Stripe and Klarna, are trademarks of their owners. They are used only to describe the platforms we work with. eCounts is independent and is not endorsed by them.

Our liability

We provide this website free of charge for general information. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content or calculators, including loss of profit, business or data. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. Our privacy notice and cookie policy also apply when you use the site.
